It is primarily seen as a prehistoric temple that was aligned with the sun’s movements. It is also believed to have been made to pay respects to ancestors and mark critical dates on the calendar like the summer and winter solstices. Today, it has been included in the list of World Heritage Sites and is considered extremely important to understand the Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial practices.
